Please note the below is relating to all Galini Retreats.  Terms and conditions in relation to this website can be found via the link in the footer of the website page.

​

The top things to note regarding our retreats T&Cs are: 

​

  • Get travel insurance because this will cover you for any injury or any potential cancellations you may have to make 

  • We don’t offer a refund if you cancel within 30 days of retreat start date unless you or we find someone to fill your place 

  • We do offer refund if we cancel.

​

1. Booking and Payment

​

i. Reservations made online require full payment at the time of reservation.

​

ii. Payments made with an overseas credit card will be processed in the local currency at the prevailing exchange rate on the date of processing.

​

iii. It is your responsibility to ensure that The Galini receives the full amount, taking into account currency fluctuations and any third-party transfer and processing charges.

​

iv. Bookings are considered confirmed, and services will be provided only after payment in full has been received by The Galini.

​

 

2. Cancellation by you

​

i. Cancellation can only be made by the person(s) listed on the booking form. Notice of cancellation must be provided in writing to The Galini. Cancellation will be effective from the date of receipt, and your booking will be released.

​

ii. Cancellation within 30 days of the confirmed arrival date will result in the forfeiture of the payment.

​

iii. An administrative charge of 12% will be retained from the refundable amount for cancellations made prior to that date. 

​

iv. If you cancel and another customer is found to take your place, we may allow you to defer your booking to another date or person, subject to our discretion. A 12% administrative fee will apply to the refundable balance.

​

v. Once the retreat has started, no refund or part refund will be provided in the event of cancellation or non-attendance. There are no refunds for any unused portion of the retreat.

​

vi. You agree to indemnify The Galini against any financial loss caused by events beyond our control.

 

​

3. Our liability to you

​

i. The Galini is responsible for providing services and accommodations of a reasonable standard, as described. However, we reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule events due to circumstances beyond our control.

​

ii. Staff, including facilitators, coaches, and teachers may be subject to change at The Galini's discretion.

​

iii. We are not responsible for the gender composition of any group, nor for the individual behaviour of any guest.

​

iv. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to cancel your booking if we deem your behaviour disrespectful or if your attitude or mental health is likely to disrupt staff or other guests. In such cases, we will refund any applicable balance after deducting a 12% administrative fee.

​

v. Participation in group sessions, one-to-one treatments and coaching, and other activities, both on-site and off-site, such as hiking, yoga, qi gong and sound meditation, is at your own risk. We are not liable for any injuries you may sustain.

 

We are also not liable for any medical or psychiatric conditions that may develop during or after your stay. Additionally, we are not responsible for any loss or damage to your personal property.

vi. We do not accept liability for cancellations, delays, or changes caused by events such as war, terrorism, airport closures, civil unrest, natural disasters, technical issues with transportation, staff cancellations, national emergencies, health epidemics, unforeseen changes in personal circumstances, or any other events beyond our control. You agree to indemnify The Galini against any financial loss resulting from such events.

4. Flights & Transfers

​

i. Your travel arrangements are your responsibility and at your own expense.

​

ii. The Galini is not responsible for any consequences arising from delays or cancellations by any companies with which you have made travel arrangements, or for any issues related to your travel documentation.

 

​

5. Travel Insurance

​

i. Travel insurance is mandatory. We may ask for proof of this on your arrival.

​

ii. Your travel insurance must cover the activities included in your booking, as well as unexpected cancellations, sickness, losses, flight changes, or cancellations. Please ensure you have the policy with you in case of emergencies.

​

iii. If you are a UK resident, please check the validity of your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for travel to EU countries. Alternatively, apply for a Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) that covers medical treatment in Europe (excluding ambulances and residential charges for hospital stays).

​

6. Your Medical Health / Pregnancy

​

i. If you have a medical condition, it is mandatory to inform us in writing at the time of booking. You must provide a letter from your GP confirming that it is safe for you to attend a retreat at The Galini, considering the advertised diet, yoga classes, and other physical activities. We reserve the right to decline your stay for your well-being.

​

ii. In the event of a medical emergency, we will provide assistance to the best of our ability, but The Galini is not responsible for the outcome of such emergencies.

​

iii. While we take measures to ensure health and safety, please note that our premises are situated in uneven terrain. We are not responsible for injuries caused by uneven surfaces or engagement in any retreat sessions and activities.

iv. In case of a medical emergency, we will advise the nearest hospital.

​

v. For pregnancy, it is not advisable to practice yoga or qi gong, or participate in sound healing during the first trimester, especially if there is a history of miscarriage. If you have been regularly practicing yoga or qi gong for several years and have a letter from your doctor stating that it is safe for you to participate in our activities, you may attend a retreat during the second and third trimesters. Please follow the guidance of our facilitators.

7. Food - Allergies - Medication - Alcohol

​

i. The Galini's kitchen offers a local menu with options for vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free diets.

​

ii. If you have a severe dietary allergy, you must provide a note from your doctor or health practitioner detailing the severity of your condition and potential reactions to specific ingredients. Upon arrival, please remind the manager and kitchen staff of your dietary needs. You are responsible for your own dietary health and should bring any necessary medication. If we are unable to accommodate your allergy needs, we may need to decline your booking for your safety.

​

iii. We are not liable for any adverse reactions to ingredients consumed during your stay.

​

iv. Please inform us if you are taking prescribed anti-depressants or if you are epileptic.

​

v. Our staff will not administer medication on your behalf.

 

​

8. Mobile Phones and Portable Devices

​

i. Our retreats are designed to create a quiet and reflective atmosphere.

​

ii. To maintain a positive retreat environment for all guests, please refrain from using mobile devices in any of the shared spaces. If you need to make phone calls or work-related activities on a mobile device, please do so in the privacy of your room and not in communal areas.

​

iii. If you listen to music, please use headphones and keep the volume at a reasonable level that does not disturb others.

iv. Guest privacy and confidentiality are important to us. Taking, storing, or sharing digital photos or videos of fellow guests without their prior permission is not permitted.

​

 

9. Age/Gender

​

i. All genders are welcome at The Galini. The minimum age for participants is 16 unless otherwise agreed upon in writing at our discretion. There is no maximum age limit.

10. Jurisdiction

​

Any use of The Galini website or related websites is subject to our terms and conditions and governed by the laws of the relevant jurisdiction. The courts of that jurisdiction shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes.

​

 

11. Complaints

​

i. We value your feedback and strive to address any concerns promptly. If you have a complaint, please provide the following details:

  • Your name and address

  • Preferred phone number for contact

  • Clear description of the complaint

  • Desired resolution or outcome

  • Copies of relevant correspondence, if applicable

​

ii. You can contact us by email using the provided contact information. We will do our best to respond quickly and aim to resolve your complaint within 28 working days. If more time is needed, we will provide updates on the progress and aim to provide a final response or detailed report within eight weeks.

​

iii. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the complaint to the person who handled it. They will discuss the next steps with you.

12. GDPR Policy

​

i. Use of your personal data:

We are committed to safeguarding your personal data. We will use your non-sensitive personal data for the following purposes:

  • Registering you as a new client

  • Managing payments

  • Managing orders

  • Maintaining our relationship with you

Sending you information about our goods and services

  • Our legal basis for processing your data for points (i) to (iv) is to fulfil our contractual obligations, and for point (v), it is necessary for our legitimate interests in developing our products/services and expanding our business. We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

ii. Disclosure of your personal data:

We may need to share your personal data with:

  • Service providers offering IT and system administration support

  • Professional advisors such as lawyers, bankers, auditors, and insurers

HMRC and other regulatory authorities

  • We require all these third parties to handle your personal data securely and in compliance with the law. They are authorised to process your data only based on our instructions.

iii. International data transfers:

To perform certain functions such as communication regarding inquiries, order processing, and general site management, we may share your personal data with a third party outside of the European Economic Area. This party complies with the Privacy Shield, ensuring similar data protection standards between Europe and the US. We may also share your personal data with third-party website agencies when necessary to fulfil our obligations to you. We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and treat it in accordance with the law.

iv. Data security:

We have implemented security measures to prevent unauthorised access, use, or disclosure of your personal data. Access to your data is limited to authorized personnel who require it for business purposes. We have procedures in place to handle suspected data breaches and will notify you and the relevant regulatory authority if legally required. You have the right to request the deletion of your data in certain circumstances.

v. Data retention:

We will retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. We may retain your data to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. For example, certain information about you may be kept for six years after you are no longer a client for tax purposes. You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances.
